Effective SEO Techniques for Writers

Many writers struggle a lot to get exposure to articles on a blog. You may be the best writer and you try to select subjects that your audience will like. You may even do everything to make the article informative and helpful. But people are still not reading it.

If that is the case, then you may be missing something. You might have to do search engine optimization or SEO. SEO is the process of making your article readable not just by human audiences but also by robots, particularly search engine algorithms. Here are some tips to help you out with SEO.

1. Choose the best subject.

Choose a subject you know by heart. Then, select the right keywords for it. SEO is all about keywords and although it feels like a daunting task, no article will ever be indexed without the use of the right keywords.

So, aside from thinking of a topic that your clients might like or a subject that you believe is important to your audience, you have to consider your keyword choices as well. That, along with the fact that your article should be original. Unfortunately, you can’t just copy it from somebody else’s.

2. Check for the keyword’s search volume.

You can use free tools to plan which keywords to use. There is also some advanced software that can help you with testing. The idea is to find keywords that your target audience is currently using and capitalize on them. Keywords are the search terms that an online user puts into the search box to find the information that they’re looking for.

3. Ensure correct keyword placement.

Just because you know the right keywords to use, it doesn’t mean that you’ll inject it mindlessly on your content. You should also know how frequently you’ll use it in the article and where to strategically place them.

4. Capitalize on secondary keywords.

There should be primary and secondary keywords in your article. Don’t just use one keyword or use too many of them. Secondary keywords are terms that are related to the primary keywords. You may want to use them sparingly throughout the article.

5. Write the article well.

Now that you have everything that you need to write, you may start working on that article. Use primary keywords a few times, but don’t overdo them. You have to create strong sentences and paragraphs, not an article packed with SEO content.

Creating SEO Optimized Content

At first, SEO might seem very difficult, but it’s actually easy after you’ve done many times. You must remember that keyword research remains to be the essential facet of the whole process. Use keywords that don’t have high search volumes, as it may be very difficult to get a good ranking for these terms.

Remember to add relevant keywords to the article. Think of them as the wingmen for the primary keyword. They effectively tell Google that the article is related to those topics too.

Once you have SEO integrated into your writing routine, you’ll quickly see find results on your pages. Your website will come up on the first page of Google’s search results. For further help, you can always consult with an Irvine SEO expert.
